About Us
Welcome to Botree Kids, where we are passionate about providing high-quality educational toys to the children of South Africa. Our story began in Germany, where co-founders Mario and Melanie Hegemann started a day-care centre for their children, which became a successful chain of day-care centres, catering to over 1400 children and employing 400 people.
After moving to South Africa with their family, they quickly realised that there was a lack of quality educational toys available for children in the country. Having experienced firsthand the benefits of using German-made toys in their day-care centres, they were determined to make these exceptional resources available to the children of South Africa. And so, our online store, Botree Africa, was born.
Our mission is to provide children with the tools they need to learn, grow and develop to their fullest potential. We believe that education should be fun and engaging, and that children learn best through play. That’s why we offer a carefully curated selection of toys that are not only entertaining but also help to develop cognitive, motor, and social skills.
In November 2022, we opened our first flagship store, Botree Kids, in Walmer, Gqeberha. Our store offers a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere that is sure to delight both children and parents alike. We are proud to offer an extensive range of products, including wooden blocks, puzzles, musical instruments, and much more.
